Obituary of Cecile R. McCartan

Cecile Rita (DeCelles) McCartan of Manchester, CT died peacefully at age 94 on April 20, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Thomas H. McCartan. Also pre-deceased by her parents Leo Pauldine and Peter DeCelles and six siblings. Devoted mother of Thomas H. McCartan and his wife Patricia of Naples, FL, Peter J. McCartan of Las Vegas, NV, Kathleen T. McCartan and her partner Henry Lisk of Coventry, CT, Theresa N. Donovan and her husband Robert of Milton, MA, Dennis M. McCartan and his partner Maryanne Weston of Whitehouse, OH, Patricia A. Prue and her husband David Wright of Exeter, NH. Cherished grandmother of 15 Grandchildren and 11 great Grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cecile will be greatly missed by all she touched. The family would like to thank the staff of Maplewood Care Center and Care Dimensions Hospice in Amesbury, MA. Funeral from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT on Saturday, April 23 9-11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester at 11:30 AM. Internment at St. James Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cecile may be made to the Cecile McCartan Scholarship Fund which will provide tuition assistance for worthy children at St. James School.
