Mary Jane was my Dad's first cousin. His Dad was the brother of Mary Jane's Mom.
I'm very sorry I never got to meet her.
She looks a lot like my Dad, who passed in 1998.
My heart goes out to my cousins and their families.
May Mary Jane rest in peace.
With love,
Lisa Burke

Beth to you and all your family my deepest sympathys. Your mom was such an amazing women and will be so dearly missed. Our loss is definitely Gods gain. As I can see her sitting right next to him helping with all his daily tasks. To me she was always St. Mary Jane.

Mary Jane's husband George was my godfather, and she was not only my aunt but also a "godmother" to me. When my dad, Jim, died at age 44, Mary Jane and George stepped in to watch over my mother, my sister Kathy and me. When my mother passed just 10 years later, Mary Jane and George continued to be there for me and Kathy. I'll never forget the night in 1985 when I visited their home to tell them that Jack and I were engaged to be married. They were as thrilled and loving as my own parents would have been if they were alive. George gave me away at our small family wedding, and he and Mary Jane treated Jack as if he was their own son-n-law.
Mary Jane was ever the caregiver, from the time she became a nurse, through George's health issues and beyond. She was the one who worried about all of us, who cooked and baked for us (apple pie for Jack, which he was not allowed to have hot), who never failed to send us beautiful cards for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. No doubt she also prayed for all of us during the many years when she attended Mass daily.
It is so fitting that memorial contributions for Mary Jane will go to St. James School. She truly loved being a school nurse there and teaching health classes to the children - a "mother" in her professional life as well as her personal one.
May Mary Jane truly rest in peace now. She deserves it far more than most.
Special thanks to Mary Jane's daughter Pat, who took care of her mother for many years. Pat, with the able assistance of her sister Beth, brother Jim and sister-in-law Jodie, gave us more time to share Mary Jane's presence and love.
We will never forget Mary Jane, and will love her always.
