Obituary of Andrew Ansaldi

Andrew Ansaldi, Jr. "Andy", 78, of Bolton, the beloved husband of Anne Ansaldi died on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Manchester in 1936, he was the son of the late Virginia and Andrew Ansaldi Sr. Andy was educated at Dartmouth College where he graduated in 1959 with dual masters' degrees from Tuck School of Business Administration and Thayer School of Engineering. After college, he joined his father in the family business as President of The Andrew Ansaldi Company. He helped grow the company's reputation, leading to the widely recognized and respected term "Ansaldi Built". In addition to the company's general contracting business, Andy took great pride in creating custom homes in and around the greater Manchester area and developed numerous multifamily apartment complexes. Aside from his business interests, Andy was heavily involved in numerous local community activities, served on various boards and development committees, and was actively involved in the sponsorship of local sports and community organizations. In 1970 he helped found The Manchester State Bank where he served as Chairman of the Board from its creation until 1996. In addition to his business and community efforts, Andy had many interests including a love of history, architecture, early American antiques, travel to Italy and, above all, spending time with his family and friends. Aside from his wife, he is survived by his children, Andrew Ansaldi III and wife Monica of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Adam Ansaldi and wife Mary of New Canaan, Amoree Ansaldi Casey and husband Brian of Boulder, CO, Aaron Ansaldi and wife Kathleen of Manchester, and Alex Ansaldi and wife Karen of Bolton; his adored grandchildren, Drew Ansaldi, Christiana Ansaldi, Will Ansaldi, Ben Ansaldi, Teddy Ansaldi, Cameron Casey, Connor Casey, Cody Casey, Lexi Ansaldi, Ally Ansaldi, Evan Ansaldi, Erik Ansaldi, Natalie Ansaldi, and Hailey Ansaldi; his step grandchildren, Leah Bieu and Ryan Bieu; his sister, Dorothy Carter of Bernardsville, NJ; his nephews, John Carter and his wife Cindy, Tad Carter and Glenn Carter; and his former wife, Kitty Kuhlmann Ansaldi of Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 12th at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester. At the request of the family, please meet directly at church.
