Obituary of Francis Pagani

Francis L. Pagani, Jr., 81, formerly of Shelton, passed away peacefully in Bloomfield on Monday (February 20, 2012). Born in Hartford, he grew up in Manchester and had lived in Shelton for many years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired as an English teacher from Fairfield High School. Frank loved travelling, the opera, as well as ballet and theatre. He was an avid and enthusiastic collector of books, art, and autographed opera memorabilia. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Tracy of Manchester; his nieces and nephew Karen Bellis and her husband Daniel of Union, Susan Schiavetti of Vernon, Lee Schiavetti and his wife Melissa of Eastford, Gail Stang and her husband Bob of Uniontown, OH, Jill Harrison and her husband Scott of South Windsor, and Lynn Tracy of Ellington. Frank is also survived by his beloved grand-niece and grand-nephews Matthew Stang, Elise Schiavetti and Lee Schiavetti, Jr.; and his close friends David Perry, Simon Rich, Richard P. Hall, David Frost, John Farrell, Allison Becker and Dolores Slonim. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence Schiavetti, his brother-in-law Wallace R. Tracy and niece Donna Tracy. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Metropolitan Opera Fund 30 Lincoln Center, New York, NY 10023.
