Mary (Cameron) Maynard, 86, the beloved wife of Ronald O. Maynard, married for 55 years, died on Friday (May 2, 2014) surrounded by her loving family at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Bridget (Doherty) Cameron of Bristol. Mary overcame many challenges and became one of the longest survivors of Cerebral Palsy. A truly remarkable woman, she devoted her life to her family and helping other families who had children of special needs. One of those children was Dorothea Selander who was with her for 35 years. Besides her husband, Mary survived by her children. Peter Maynard and his wife June of Coventry, Ronald Maynard and his wife Debbie of Vernon, Cathy Maynard and her husband Ghislain Garant of Bolton and Michael Maynard of Bolton; her grandchildren Jennifer Morello and her husband Paul, Mitchell Maynard, Matthew Maynard, Samantha Maynard, Steven Maynard, Stephanie Maynard and Steven, Joshua Maynard, Natalie Maynard, Michael Maynard, Jr., Collin Maynard and Kayla Maynard and her great grandchildren Olivia Morello and Mckayla and Johrden Maynard. She is also survived by her siblings Joseph Cameron and his wife Beverly of CO, Rita Newell of Plainville, Gary Cameron and his wife Sue of Southington, Michael Cameron and his wife Marylyn of CO. and Catherine Day and her husband Donald of Avon. Mary was also predeceased by her brother David Cameron. Beloved by all of those who were graced by her presence, she will be greatly missed. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Tuesday (5/6) from 3 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Church Hebron Rd. Bolton.
