Harry had an early 1950's green Pontiac with a visor over the windshield. He would let me get into the car and move the steering wheel all I wanted to. He was very kind to me. Also, when he lived over on the other side of my grandmother's house, he used to sleep on the couch.
Aunt Vivian used to say the children could make all the noise we wanted, because Harry couldn't sleep without those sounds. We were his "white noise".
Harry and my father were best of friends. They went down to Florida together without the wives, and went golfing, and were lifelong friends.
I'll miss him.

My parents, sister Susan, Aunt Vivian, Uncle Harry, Debi, Dona and myself went camping at Littlefield Beach. I remember riding either there or back home with Aunt Vivian and Uncle Harry. We rode past the monastery in Lewiston. Being young and not knowing, I read the sign out loud and mispronounced it as a "monstrosity". I remember Uncle Harry laughing and saying, "It sure is a monstrosity." I knew when he came to visit, he would always say something to make us laugh-thank you, Uncle Harry for having a sense of humor.

Dear Aunt Vivian, Dona, Debbie, and David, Kim and I are so sorry that you have lost your husband and dad. As a youngster, we had so many fun times when we would get together to go camping or just hang out and pick up where we left off from the last visit. I remember staring at the wall in your dining room when we were told we couldn't go out that night and how that must have made out parents pretty mad. I remember overhearing our parents reading a set of directions on how to set up an awning for camping and a lot of laughter over the word erect. I often wondered how you lived with Uncle Harry because he scared me to death when I was young, but as I aged I came to know him so much better and appreciated his sense of humor and looked forward to it when we visited my parents and Uncle Harry and Aunt Vivian in Florida. I know you are all together up in heaven, playing cards, golfing and enjoying the 19th hole. You will be missed and my life is richer for knowing you.

I was always my Dad's favorite. I was the youngest. I remember being at my Aunt Doris and Uncle Kenney's house one summer and my dad and uncle were taking a ride to my dads uncles camp. My cousin Sue and I wanted to go and we hopped into the car. I had a wonderful day swimming in the lake having loads of fun with my cousin.Mind you their were no cell phone, house phones at the camp. Driving home we were pulled over by a Maine State Trooper. Can you imagine the look on my dad & uncles face when they were told that they were looking for me and my cousin as we were missing. Both my dad and uncle never told our mothers that we were going with them.
