Obituary of Barbara Kiernan

Barbara (Holland) Kiernan, 80, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. Barbara was born in Manchester on April 9, 1942, to the late Raymond and Margaret (Maneggia) Holland and was raised in Bolton. She was predeceased by her husband, Brian Kiernan. She graduated from Manchester High School and then worked at Manchester Modes until they closed. She later worked at the Journal Inquirer until she retired.

Barbara was an active member of the Bolton Senior Center, going on day trips to the casino and attending luncheons. She enjoyed reading and attending bingo games. Barbara is survived by her sister, Joyce Holland of Manchester, and many other dear family members and friends. Joyce wishes to express her gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Hartford Hospital ICU for their excellent care for her sister. Special thanks to Patricia Maneggia, David & Sharon Woodward and Gary Nelson for their support during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends may call upon the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 9:30am to 10:30am with a funeral home service at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
