Mario J. Frattaroli, 78, of Manchester the husband of Bernice (Trebbe) Frattaroli was born to new life Wednesday (May 23, 2007) surrounded by his family at his home. Born April 11, 1929 in Stamford, CT he was the son of the late Mario J. Frattaroi Sr. and Antoinette Pompa Frattaroli. A former UCONN football captain Mario was an athlete who took his love of competition through his entire life. An avid golfer, Mario applied his skills and prowess in all he did as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and human being. Our loss will leave a void not easily replaced. Mario was a 1952 graduate of the University of Connecticut and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Besides his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses, Thomas Frattaroli and his wife Patricia Faulds of Tolland, Carolyn Frattaroli Didden and her husband Christiaan Didden of Glastonbury, William Frattaroli and his wife Kathleen of Manchester, and James Frattaroli and his wife Julie of Port Clinton, OH; his grandchildren Samuel, Roxanne, and Madeline Frattaroli, Alexandra and Cary Didden, Katharine, Veronica and Daniel Frattaroli, and Abigail, Nathaniel, and Owen Frattaroli. He is also survived by his sisters, Frances DeSalvo of Stamford and Eleanor Koenig of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (May 26, 2007) at 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Bartholomew Church Ludlow St. Manchester, followed by burial in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Broad Brook. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Bartholomew Church 45 Ludlow Rd.
