Obituary of Marianne Chambers

Marianne R. Chambers, 89, of Manchester, the beloved wife of Robert W. Chambers passed away on  Monday, February 1, 2021 at Vernon Manor.  Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Marie (Wanat) Righton.  She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy in Hartford, where she had to travel by car, train and bus each day, and attended Bryant College.  Marianne was the secretary of the Chalker Beach Association, Old Saybrook for many years and especially enjoyed spending summers with her family at Chalker Beach for over 60 years.  She retired from the Manchester School System as a paraprofessional and had fond memories of the years she worked at Nathan Hale School and Martin School.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, ceramics, bowling, being a member of her Mothers Circle, and dinners at the Westbrook Elks and The Monkey Farm.  The times she enjoyed most though, was when her whole family was together.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Jim and Jackie Sutton of Lake Worth, FL, Lynda and Jim Farley of Manchester, Karen and Bill Lombardi of Bristol, Bill and Marcia Chambers of South Windsor; her grandchildren Jimmy Sutton, Paige Farley, Joe and Tom Lombardi, and Bobby, Brian and Matt Chambers; and her great-grandchildren Madison, Beckham and Max.  Marianne’s family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the dedicated staff at Vernon Manor.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 736 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, CT followed by burial in East Cemetery, Manchester.  A live stream of the Mass may be viewed at live.manchestercatholic.org.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.  For online condolences please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
