Obituary of John F. Maloney

John F. "Jack� Maloney, Jr (A.K.A. "Baldy The Handyman�) 59, of Vernon, passed away on Thursday (August 25, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1946 to the late John F. and Eleanor (Pinney) Maloney. He leaves his beloved wife, Sharon (Hazen) Maloney of Vernon; four children; Todd Maloney of Vernon, Tammy Maloney/ Michael Link of Washington D.C., Jared and Tina Galica of Ellington, and Nicole (Galica) and Joshua Goldberg of Ellington; three grandsons Jack Daniel Maloney, and Jordan and Brennan Girard. Four siblings James and Beverly Maloney of Woodstock, Jay and Wendy Maloney of Manchester, Jill and Richard Husbands of Manchester, and Joyce and Roger Talbot, Jr. of Glastonbury; a mother-in-law Hazel Hazen /James Duffey of Lady Lakes, FL and a sister-in-law Carolyn Hazen of Manchester, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He had attended Manchester High School, was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War and then joined the Manchester Police for a period of time. He recently retired from the Department of Corrections for the State of Connecticut and was the owner of a handyman business known as "Baldy the Handyman�. He loved his home and family and enjoyed taking cruises and the beach in Virginia. Family and friends may gather from 2-4 pm on Sunday August 28, 2005 at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 29, 2005 at 10 am at First Congregational Church of Vernon at 695 Hartford Turnpike Vernon (Rte. 30) followed by a committal service at St. Catherine�s Cemetery, Rye Street, Broad Brook, CT.
