I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I also remember Bernie very well. He was a great help and full of encouragement when I opened my dental practice in 1974. I remember the Lincoln and the license plate DMD-11. Later living for 10 years on Green Hills Drive in Bolton, I got to appreciate the "farmhouse", and what a terrific family you have. Mary will be missed, but she has left a wonderful legacy. I am sorry I couldn't be there tonight to reminisce and to personally speak my condolences.

To Paul, Tommy, Trish, MaryAnn, Kathy, Dennis, and Julie, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." (Psalm 116:15) Although we all struggle with the loss of those we love, and words cannot begin to describe or assuage the negative emotions that we endure when someone we love is taken from us, God's word triumphs over all, giving us hope. When the life of a believer is finished on earth, God sees it as "precious". He now gets to harvest the particular soul and place him/her into a place in heaven, already prepared. An eternity of unbroken fellowship with the Lord and other saints now begins. In this sense, we can all rejoice at your Mom's going home. I remember the day that I first met "Mrs. Sheridan". Paul brought me home from a Round Table Singers rehearsal. I met your mom in that famous kitchen/dinette area of the "farm". She was busy in the kitchen, and carrying Julie in her womb. It was that long ago. I spent many days and nights at the "farm" and experienced the steady and loving hand of a mother who gave all for her family and their friends. "Mrs. Sheridan" was a veritable dynamo of keeping the home fires burning, breaking up children's arguments and bringing peace to a fuming situation of childhood squabbles. She was a real "down home" cook, and could prepare a meal for 12 with more grace and ability than I can make a sandwich. I can remember many a Saturday night when Paul and I would sit up to the wee hours of the morning, playing the piano and guitar in the music room, finally succumbing to exhaustion. We would make our way to one of the beds upstairs and crash. It would seem like only moments until we heard the "Doc's" voice summoning everyone to church. We reluctantly bailed out of the sack and headed up to St. Maurice's. After church, it was back to the farm for one of those dinners for a dozen that Mrs. Sheridan so ably put together. You were all blessed in a hundred ways with a mother like "Mrs. Sheridan". She was a Hope Diamond among humanity. I can only estimate that she probably touched a hundred teenage lives with all of the friends that were brought back to the "farm" through the years. She was a fountain of warmth and hospitality and always seemed to find pleasure in fellowshipping with us kids. I know that your mom endured a thousand disappointments and heartbreaks, and yet she always stood firm. She never lost her grace and dignity. And it was not a grace and dignity of the snooty, but the grace and dignity of someone who loved and was living life to serve and not to be served. What a legacy! To each of you in your loss, may the Lord grant you His comfort, and may this time of grief pass...but not too quickly. May you all reflect on the incredible gift that God gave each of you with your mother. May He help us remember that we are all getting closer to the front of the line, and that our turn shall soon come when we too shall pass into eternity. I believe that your Mom, (my Mrs. Sheridan) lived her life in a way that is summed up by the words of the Apostle Paul: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7-8) God bless you all. With sincere condolences, Gary (and Hellen) Kosak 2095 S.W. 166th Avenue Miramar, Florida 33027-4492 954-447-4001 gkosak@aol.com

For Dennis and Kathy and the family - We were at the Winchester last night and the news went around. I am so sorry, I know that she will be missed and I send my sincere condolences. I remember when Mrs. Sheriden came there to hear Heartland play and I enjoyed getting to meet her. It was another wonderful evening the night of St. Patty's day at Governor's tavern where your entire family celebrated and had such fun. With deep sympathy, Kathy.
