Brenda, I was so sorry to see in the New London Day that your Dad had passed away. I remember when he had his heart attack when we were in school and we went to Manchester Hospital to see him. He did so well after that. I remember his smile. My dad passed away 5 years ago so I know how painful the loss of a parent is. Your heart actual breaks. It seems like our parents should be with us forever, how can they leave us. We know better on an intellectual level but the raw emotion has you feeling something so different, so vulnerable. Brenda, time does not heal, but in time you will heal. The pain decreases and the tears come less often. They are at peace, no more suffering and they're probably having a hell of a lot of fun....I know I see my dad smiling, that is the picture I have in my mind. He certainly was not smiling while here on earth for the last 7 years of his life. Please extend my sympathy to your mom and sister. Please contact me if you wish. I am sorry that it is under such awful circumstances that we are connecting with each other again. Sincerely, Laurie
