Obituary of Leona Quental

Leona "Lee" (Santos) Quental, of Manchester, the wife of the late Ricardo "Rick" Quental, Sr. died on Saturday, November 19, 2011 in Glastonbury. Lee was born in Fall River, MA the daughter of David and Antoinette (Machado) Santos and had lived in Manchester for many years. Lee's joy was being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also formerly employed at K-Mart Automotive and as a health therapist. She was Queen of Fall River and was honored as Miss Border City for Fall River's sesquicentennial. Lee was an active member of St. Bartholomew's Church having taught religious education and was a member of the Ladies Guild, the church choir and the Follow Me Prayer Group. She was also very involved with the Manchester Little League and was an avid Red Sox fan. Lee is survived by her children and their spouses Pamela Ann Quental Bevan and her husband Chuck of Ocala, FL., Ursula Q. Kessler and her husband Mark of Northumberland, PA, Ricardo Quental, Jr. and his wife Leslie of Cheshire, Rev. Sean A. Quental and his wife Nicolle of Ft. Mills, SC., and Christopher G. Quental and his wife Ann Marie of Bolton; her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Vavo", Frank J. DiNatale, Ricardo A. DiNatale and his wife Maria, Vincent M. DiNatale and his wife Christie, Andrea Kessler Morrison and husband Jeremiah; Avalon, Christina, Cassandra and Ricardo III Quental, Shannon Jepsen, Alison Crown and Zachary Boganski; Seana , Lindsea , Savannah, Hannah, Glorya, Jacob David and Charity Quental and Alexandra Elizabeth Quental. Lee is also survived by five great grandchildren, her sister Antoinette Lea of Bellevue, NB and her brother Manuel Almeida of Eatontown, NJ. She was also predeceased by her sister Ida Moniz formerly of Hollywood, FL. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (November 23rd) at 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Bartholomew Church 45 Ludlow Rd. Manchester, followed by burial in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday morning from 9:15-10:15 am.
