Obituary of James R. Wagner
James R. Wagner, 75, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Manchester and Wethersfield, died Monday (December 10, 2012) from complications with Bladder cancer. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Milton and Frances (Kinnarney) Wagner. Jim formerly served with the US Marine Corps and CT National Guard. He retired from the State of Connecticut after many years of service and for the past 22 years had been serving as Sergeant At Arms of the CT General Assembly. He was also a member of the CT Governor's Foot Guard First Company, the Manchester Army/Navy Club, Manchester Elks Lodge 1893, the Stonington Portuguese Club, and the Officer's Club Hartford, along with numerous other affiliations. He is survived by his loving companion and best friend of 42 years, Lynn England; his children Linda Sherman (James), John Wagner (Mary), James Wagner (Donna) and Cheryl Levesque; nine grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special note of thanks to the staff at Hartford Hospital especially Bliss Wing 7I ICU. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (December 14th) at 10 am at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial with military honors in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
