Obituary of Bernard Brodin

Bernard R. Brodin, 64, of Manchester the husband of Ann (Moreau) Brodin died Friday (August 12, 2011) after a short illness. Born in Hartford, he was the son of Berdon and Sarah (Mayberry) Brodin. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam war having served on the USS WASP. He was the owner of Villa Spirit Shoppe in Storrs for 38 years. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Adam Brodin of Manchester, Brian Brodin of Virginia, and Katie Cicero and her husband Sal of Colchester; his grandchildren Ryan and Brandan Cicero of Colchester; and his siblings, John Brodin and his wife Donna of Vernon, and Nancy Freeman and her husband Peter of Maine. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Ruth McCabe, brothers-in-law Skip Moreau and his wife Toni, and Jack Moreau and his wife Michelle, his sister-in-law Joyce Steurer and her husband Brad and several nieces and nephews. Bernard's family would like to offer a special thanks to Mary Thieling, and Bob and Vicki Parsons. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements.
