To Bernie's entire family, Your husband, your father, was one of those walking angels amongst us. There are many people who leave trails of God's goodness to the least of those...Bernie was one of those. And he hid his wings well calling no attention to himself. He was the true example of paying it forward and I know that those who he touched will pay it forward. Peace and comfort to all of you. It is the story left behind by those we love that we need to hear!

Richie and I were best friends with Adam and Brian growing up in Manchester... we'll never forget "The Bern". The donuts, the wiffleball, football in the front yard... Him and Ann are some of the nicest people we've ever known. He loved us like his own kids... huge smile on his face every time we saw him, even 20 years later. Our thoughts are with you.

We did not have the pleasure of knowing Bernie for a long time, but we knew him to be a sweet and kind man. He was always so pleasant to us as his customers. We were very grateful when he gave our daughter Elizabeth a job at his store. He always treated her with respect and kindness. Bernie always had a smile on his face and had a way of making everyone feel important. May he rest in peace. Our sincere sympathy is extended to his entire family for their loss. We have many fond memories of Bernie over the years from the time our boys were in high school, running cross-country. Bernie was always in a good mood, happy to share stories and a good listener. He was inordinately lucky during the football pool on Super Bowl Sunday, but always gave his winnings to Ann and her friends for one of their "girls' weekends" away. He was generous and supportive and, most notedly, a proud husband, father and grandfather. Our love and sympathy go out to Ann, Kate, Adam and Brian.

- A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world But then it flies again And though we wish it could have stayed... We feel lucky to have seen it. Bernie - Words can't say what you meant to me, but your love and wisdom will be in me forever...

I had the privilege of knowing Bernie for over 30 years. He was the rare combination of aggressive, courageous business man and really nice guy. I also admired his guts and work ethic. He was so good to me but I know it wasn't just me. I never heard a bad word about him from anyone. It gave me great pleasure whenever I had a chance to do him a small favor because I felt like he deserved my best effort. He will be truly missed. Please accept my sincere condolences.
