Obituary of Jonathan Scribner

Jonathan P. Scribner, 17, of Manchester beloved son of John A. Scribner, Jr. and Cheryl (Eshoo) Scribner of Manchester died unexpectedly on Friday (August 5, 2011). Born in Hartford, December 2, 1993 he was currently a student at Manchester High School. He was an avid ice hockey and baseball player having played at MHS, with the Manchester Little League and Manchester Legion. Jon was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Crystal Pond in Woodstock where he enjoyed water skiing, tubing and fishing. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Alison and Chelsea Scribner of Manchester, his grandmother Ethel Scribner of East Hartford, his aunt Peggy Scribner of East Hartford, uncles Peter Eshoo of Newington and Barry Eshoo and his wife Carmen of New Britain, and his great-aunts Mary Nimrod of Newington and Lucy Abraham of West Hartford. He is also survived by his cousins the Reilly family of West Hartford, the Abraham family of Marietta, GA and the Balisha family of Turlock, CA, his godparents John Nedeau and Kim Lanza both of Newington, and many other extended family members and friends. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (August 11th) at 10 am at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 41 Park St. Manchester, followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery, New Britain. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
