To the Boucher family, especially Lorraine:
We are so saddened to learn of Bernie's passing. We met Bernie at a Norwalk art exhibit and fell in love with his paintings. More important we were so taken by Bernie's quiet and gentle way and his willingness to share the history of his training, work and especially his family. Often people say a man's art is a reflection of his heart. It truly was the case with Bernie as we followed him for the next 3 years to other Fairfield, CT art exhibits and also met your sons. We have a number of his paintings and will be unpacking them in Beaufort SC, our new home. The unpacking plans are what caused me to look Bernie up just today.
Bernie was funny when we first met him and chatted about the future and the Beaufort area (apparently he was familiar with it), "are you sure he said gently, it's so hot there", and with a laugh said "my wife told me no way would she live there".
We are here now and Bernie's reflection is in every painting we will proudly hang in our home.
with love and great admiration,
Russ and Lenore Sillery
