Obituary of Ronald R. Rickard
Ronald R. Rickard, 66, of Manchester passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016 in his home, surrounded by the ones he loved the most. He was born July 21, 1950, the son of the late Lt. Commander Roderick Harley Rickard and Eileen Grimley Rickard. Ron is survived by his wife of forty-four years Sharon Flavell Rickard, his son Scott Jason Rickard and his daughter Amanda L. Rickard. Also, his golden retriever, Harley, who was his swimming buddy. Though they were married for forty-four years they were in love forever. Ron is also survived by his brothers-in-law Walter Adamy his wife Jennifer and their son Wally and Edward Adamy his wife Lois and their children Sam, Becky and Clayton. He was also predeceased by his brother Roderick. Ron graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1968 served in the US Army and for many years worked at Hamilton Standard. He enjoyed playing softball, racquetball, running and completing the Ocean State Marathon. Ron was a life long Yankee fan but his true passion were his Harley Davidsons. They were always the cleanest and shiniest bikes on the road. Ron found such joy watching Scott play soccer, baseball and hockey and Amanda in her dance recitals. Calling hours will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Monday September 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 11:00 followed by burial in East Cemetery.
