Obituary of Melvin P. Williams
Melvin Pearson Williams, 86, of Manchester, the husband of Sandra (Foertsch) Williams died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Dartmouth Hospital, Lebanon, NH. Born in Willimantic, he was the son of the late Carter and Florence (Fuller) Williams. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mel graduated from Windham High School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and George Washington Law School. He retired as a Patent Attorney from United Technologies after 25 years and went into private practice in Manchester where he worked from 1992 until his retirement in 2014. He also enjoyed spending his summers on Newfound Lake, NH.
He is survived by his daughters Melissa Williams of Framingham, MA, her children Paige, Abigail and William DeVeau, their father Jason DeVeau; and Suzie Milheiro and her husband Marc of South Windsor, their children Madeline, Grace and Noah Milheiro. He is also survived by a son Matthew Williams; his sister-in-law Martha Williams of Farmington; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Williams; and brothers Perry Williams and Hadley Williams and his wife Eva.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1st, at 11:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by military honors.
