Obituary of Paul Laccavole

Paul Arthur Laccavole, 68, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Paul was born in Bridgeport, CT in 1948 and was a long-time resident of northeast Connecticut. A caring and compassionate person, Paul spent his career as a social worker and a mental health nurse. He was a lover of great literature, art, nature, and music and enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and photography. He was a big fan of UCONN basketball, the Boston Red Sox, and Celtics. His compassion, intelligence, and wit will be missed by all who knew him. Paul is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Melody and Ian Christopher and his treasured grandchildren Jacob and Natalie of Vernon, his sister Donna Warner of Kansas, nephew William Warner from Washington state, and niece Christina Doran from Minnesota. A celebration of his life will be held at the Connecticut Audubon Society Conservation Center in Pomfret in September. Contact the John F. Tierney Funeral Home in Manchester, CT for details. When Saturday, September 17th, 2016 4:00pm Location Audobon Center Address 218 Day Road Pomfret Center, CT Service Extra Info Services will be held on September 17th between 5-7pm. There will be an optional nature walk at 4:00 pm in the Bafflin Sanctuary guided by a naturalist, and an informal reception/sharing of memories in the adjacent Audubon Center at Pomfret CT. Please dress appropriately if you plan to partake in the walk. The exact timing of the walk is yet to be determined. The family is requesting friends and family to bring a photo or two to share. All photos will be returned after they are copied, as long as your name and return address are on the back. A short description of the people/event pictured would also be appreciated. These will be used to create an album for his grandchildren so that they can learn more about who he was, and to help them remember him as their memories start to fade. It was Paul's wish to have his ashes scattered by his friends in the places they love, so that he might be remembered and stay with them. Ashes will be distributed at the memorial.
