Obituary of Steven Starski
Steven R. Starski, on Thursday, September 1, 2016 our loving husband, father, and brother went home to the Lord. He was born May 16, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Robert L. and Barbara (Trask) Starski. At a young age he moved to Hicksville, NY and other LI towns before he settled in Smithtown, where on Dec. 27th 1965 he met the love of his life. He graduated from Smithtown Central High High and Suffolk County Community College. He and Helene were married July 26, 1969. Steve spent 37 years before retiring from SNET. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years Helene (Baldock) Starski; his three daughters who know he was proud of them Jeanne Starski, Carolyn Stancliffe and her husband Scott, Margaret Deprato and her husband Jobe and their daughter Samantha Farwell all of Manchester; two beloved grandchildren Lauren Stancliffe of Manchester and Zachary Stancliffe of Winter Park, FL. He is also survived by two brothers Donald and Marie Starski of Enfield and Roger Starski of Virginia; one sister Dorothy and Michael Nephew of Annapolis, MD; a much loved aunt and godmother Elinor Cerone of Deer Park, NY; two sisters-in-law Patrice Lee of Scottsdale, AZ and Susan Baldock of Long Island City, NY. He leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved; and his beloved dogs Hannah and Sophie and his grand-dog Caleb. Calling hours will be at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Wednesday, September 7th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick - St. Anthony Church 285 Church Street Hartford, CT followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
