Anna R. Machuga, 91, of Manchester, the wife of the late Edward T. Machuga, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Manchester Manor surrounded by her family. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Antonia (Battista) Troisi. Raised in New York City, Anna later moved to New Jersey to raise her family for 20 years, before settling in Connecticut. Anna had been a communicant of St. Bridget Church and the Church of the Assumption, and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and MACC Food Pantry. Cherished memories of our Mom and Grammy will remain in our hearts forever. Her constant love and support are the foundation of our family. She is survived by her children Anne McNamara, Laura Williams and her husband Paul of Bradenton, FL, Ed Machuga and his wife Marcia, Thomas Machuga and his wife Toni of Tolland, and Steven Machuga and his wife Heidi of Laguna Niguel, CA; her grandchildren Ted, Megan and Ryan McNamara, Jessica Bachinski, Amanda and Melissa Williams, Alison Couture, James Machuga, Kristen, Katherine and Nicholas Machuga, and Anna, Julia and Michael Machuga; five great-grandchildren; her brother Frank Troisi of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by four siblings. Anna's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Manchester Manor for their loving care and support. They are also thankful for the Hospice care provided by VNHSC. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
