Mary Ann .... so sorry to hear about Joe. I know one thing ... we both had the good sense to marry one of our Classmates from Holy Trinity. Think you guys were a year ahead of us. Saw Joe a few times at Bushnell Park during my noontime walks when I was working at Aetna. We caught up on a few things & had time to chat. He told me what he knew of some of his classmates & I shared things I knew about ours. Always enjoyed those conversations. Joe & I were both volunteers for the AARP Tax Program too. This past January, we attended the same session & sat next to each other during the compliance part of the Class. Joe still liked doing taxes the "ole fashioned" way ... by hand ... so he left early. I stayed for the day for the computer training portion of the class. Don't know how long Joe did Taxes for AARP, but I was on my 6th year. Always sad to hear when a fellow Trinitite passes away. Think our high school was one of the few where, even as a freshman, you got to know everyone in the school.

Dear Family of Joe, I was sadden to read in the Courant of Joe's death. He and his brother came to visit me and my mother, Elizabeth Condon Halloran about 2 years ago. We spend a lovely afternoon in Storrs learning about our family. Joe left a copy of his history and took some photos to copy. I'm hoping they are still around someplace. Mom, like Joe, is gone now but not forgotten. Mom was 96 and 1/2 ( you know how all start to add those half years after a certain age). I hope to get to the wake today or the funeral but it may not be possible as I am caring for my young grandsons. If we don't meet at this sad occasion I'm hoping that we could meet soon. I've heard so much about the Lawler, Coppinger and Nolan families over the years. Perhaps we can have a family reunion some afternoon at Black Point in Niantic which was where Mom lived during the summer. Hoping to meet, I am yours sincerely, Anne H. Soracchi
