Ann (O'Rourke) Flynn, of Manchester, the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Flynn, Sr. died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born to the late Michael and Brigid O'Rourke in Ballinamore, County Leitrum, Ireland. She graduated from the first technical school in Ballinamore, Ireland. She came to Providence, RI and then relocated to Manchester where she raised her family. She worked in local convalescent homes in Manchester until her retirement to care for her husband. Her greatest joys were spending time at numerous family gatherings as well as feeding her birds and the ducks, which brought her hope and peace. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her six children Kevin and Karen Flynn, Michael and Sally Flynn, Patricia and Peter Phelon, Ann Marie and Darrell Hoover, Arthur Jr. and Elise Flynn, and Margaret and Kevin Locke; her 10 grandchildren, Christian Flynn, Michelle and Daniel Flynn, Meghan and Benjamin Phelon, Amanda and Matthew Hoover, and Tyler, Zachary and Annelise Sonner; 2 great-grandchildren; Cameron and Charlise; and her grand dog Duke. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Our family would like to say thank you to Dr. Katz and Dr. Khanna and their staff, and a special thank you to Fr. Lou Cremonie. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25th at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
