Jean W. Bates (Warren) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2016 at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. She was an active member of her community up until her recent illness. She will be missed so very much and her passing leaves a big hole in all our lives. Jean was born in Forestdale, RI the daughter of the late Mansfield and Ann (Halbert) Williams and had grew up in Wrentham, MA and came to Connecticut in 1955. She was predeceased by her husbands Stanley J. Bates and John Warren. She received her Master's from UConn in 1976 and was a registered nurse and nurse manager at St. Francis Hospital. She was an active member of Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester and the Manchester Art Association. She is survived by her children and their spouses Ann M. Rey and her husband Don of Andover, Steven J. Bates and his wife Donna of Higganum, Bruce W. Bates and his wife Sunita of Manchester and Douglas A. Bates and his wife Catharina of Simsbury; her grandchildren Don Rey, Julie Dellasala and husband James, Jennifer Rey, Elizabeth Rey, Tiffany Boharsik and husband Mike, Bruce Bates and wife Catherine, Heather Brindle and husband Ross, Zachary Bates, Katherine Bates, Samantha Bates, Cameron Bates and wife Samantha, Olivia Bates, Erika Bates, Alexa Bates, Steven Bates, Julia Bates, Ryan Bates, Sydney Bates, Emmery Bates and Wyatt Bates; her step-grandchildren Walter Auger and Ian Auger; and her great-grandchildren Emily, Nolan and Charlotte. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Moon, Brenda McLean and Jessie Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother Henry Williams. Funeral service will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Tuesday, July 12th at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in Bolton Center Cemetery.
