Rose McSherry Magee Grakowsky, 93, of Manchester wife of Patrick Grakowsky for the past 20 years and the late Henry "Harry" Magee for 36 years, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2016. Rose was born on April 14, 1923 in Manchester, daughter of the late James and Rose McCluskey McSherry. She graduated from Manchester High School in the class of 1941. Rose worked at Pratt & Whitney while raising her family in Manchester and for Allied Printing prior to her retirement. Rose is survived by her daughters and sons in law Sherry and Daniel O'Kraska of Manchester, Susan and Fred Wistrand of Monroe, Paula and John Barry of Manchester, Maureen and Leonard Gray of South Windsor and her son and daughter in law H James (Jim) and Meg Magee of Bridgewater, MA; and a step-daughter Tami McDonald and her husband Doug of Vernon. She will be missed by her six grandchildren Katie Barry Uriano, Timothy Barry, James Gray, Eric Wistrand, Elizabeth Magee and Sam Magee, several step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Jean Kellogg of Manchester. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Elsie Kuzoian and her husband Steve, and Lena Reardon. She was predeceased by four brothers James, Michael and Francis Reardon, Bernard McSherry and her sister Sue Abraitis. Funeral service will be held on Monday July 11th at 10:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
