Paul E. Rowe, Jr., 83, of East Hartford, the husband of Chien "Cissy" Rowe, and the late Marguerite "Mickey" Rowe, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Boston, MA he was the son of the late Paul E. and Margaret (Carmichael) Rowe and had lived in East Hartford for 58 years. Paul was a graduate of Boston College High School, received his bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Boston College and later his master's degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, had retired from Pratt & Whitney / International Aero Engines after 35 years, later returning to work at Pratt & Whitney through Belcan, Inc. for a total of 56 years of service. He was a longtime coach with youth hockey, member of Glenbrooke Swim & Tennis Club, St. Christopher Parish, and an avid Boston sports fan, especially of the Red Sox and Bruins and was also active in the Chinese Cultural Center. Paul is survived by his sons and their spouses, Kevin and Kathy Rowe of Cold Springs, NY, Paul and Lynne Rowe of Wethersfield, John and Andrea Rowe of Manchester, Christopher Rowe and his husband Robert Ordoña of San Francisco, his adopted son KaiWei Chang of Manchester, NH; his grandchildren Sean, Danielle, Amanda, Kerrie, Molly, Colleen, Timothy, Michael and Grace; his brother Charles Rowe and his wife Charlene of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Church 80 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
