Obituary of Jenny Varrick-Rydlewicz

Jenny "Ginger" B. (Abramczyk) (Warick-Warech) Varrick-Rydlewicz, (10/27/1921- 6/8/2016), age 94, formerly of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully at Harrington Court-Genesis Health Care, Colchester, CT. She was the widow of Alexander H. (Medlo) Rydlewicz (5/31/2003) and the daughter of the late Anna A. (Abramczyk)( Warrick-Warech) Varrick (10/19/1968) and Francishek "Francis"( Warick-Warech) Varrick (4/10/1993) from Manchester, CT. Jenny was also predeceased by her sons Roger H. Rydlewicz (5/26/1949) of Manchester and Alan G. Rydlewicz (9/5/2002) of Manchester and Old Saybrook, CT her brothers Charles M. Varrick of South Windsor, CT and Manchester, Chester C. Varrick of Manchester (9/25/2001), Joseph R. Varrick of Manchester (1/19/1994) and Walter Varrick of Rockville(2/12/2003); her sisters Stella A. Varrick-Olender of Manchester (4/10/1993) and Rosalinda "Rosalie" C. Klein of Manchester (9/1/2011)and her cousin Chester S. Abramczyk of New Britain, CT (2010). Jennie was a gifted woman with many talents consisting of cooking, seamstress, craft designer, marching baton majorette and dancing. She also took great pride in tending to her home at 46 Server St. Manchester, CT as well as with family, animals and neighbors. Especially her longest friendly neighbor who lives behind her, Janet McCann-Blakeslee. A long time communicant of the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams Street South, Manchester, CT. She partook in the pleasure of attending church and any church sponsored activities. Jenny supported the Assumption School Library as well. She was a longstanding member of the St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center Women's Auxiliary, Hartford, CT; Gibbons Assembly of Catholic Ladies of Columbus, Manchester; the Statue of Liberty Ellis Foundation, Inc. NY, NY; the CT Humane Society and Animal Friends of CT. She also supported the Hartford Hospital Children's Center Hartford, CT and the St. Joseph's Cathedral Building Fund Archdiocese of Hartford, CT. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law (Joyce) J A Rydlewicz-Coffey of Manchester and Jewett, CT and Patrick K. Coffey of Plainville, CT and Jewett, CT; her daughter-in-law Sharon E. Colligan-Rydlewicz of Old Saybrook and Hartford; her nephews and their spouses Daryl Klein of Manchester and Glendale, CT, Gary Klein of Manchester, Glastonbury, CT and East Hartford, CT, Charles E. and Barbara Varrick of South Windsor, CT, their children Jillanna, Sharon and Lois; Robert F. and Janet Varrick of Manchester, CT, their children Tracy and Scott; her nieces Mary (Daley) Varrick-Galant of Bolton, CT; her children Louise, Marlene, Christie and Mathew; Courtney and Beverly Varrick-Mallison, of Rockville, CT and Alexandria, VA, child Spencer; and her sister-in-law Marian (Medlo) Rydlewicz-Wocoski of East Hartford and Hope, AR, children Cindy Wocoski-Malozzi and Joey W. and several grand-nieces and nephews and grand-grand nieces and nephews. I would like to thank all of the staff members especially West Wing Nursing Staff at Harrington Court Genesis Health Care of Colchester, CT for their loving care and support they gave mother during her long term residency at the facility. Thank you Theraputic Recreation group for accepting recipes submitted from Mother & I for the up & coming "Harring Court Residents Cook Book". A thank you for Jennie's early residency at sister facility Salmon Brook Genesis Health Care, Glastonbury, CT. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, CT followed by a Resurrection Catholic service at 11:00 at the Assumption Church, 29 South Adams St., Manchester, CT. Entombment partakes after the service at St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester, CT. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Animal Friends of CT, or any animal adoption agency.
