Obituary of Arline Pierce
Arline (Hallissey) Pierce, 90, daughter of the late Police Chief Charles J. Hallissey and her mother Minni (Utzig) Hallissey passed away on Monday June 6, 2016, at Manchester Manor.
For 28 years, she was a "School Crossing Guard" "a Meter Maid" and then a Parking Controller on the midnight shift for the Hartford Police Department. She was employed at the Institute of Living in Hartford as a "Psychiatric Introductory Aide" for almost 10 years.
Arline was born and lived most of her life in Hartford. After she retired, she moved to Manchester. She was predeceased by two brothers, Officers John A. Hallissey and Sgt. Charles W. Hallissey, both of the Hartford Police Department, and a sister Regina Dubicki.
She is survived by two daughters Christine Ann Marques and her husband Joseph Marques, their children Heather and Matthew Marques; and Laurel Ann Citino and her husband Joseph Citino, their children Dawn, Joseph and Frank Citino and their grandson Alessio Baeza. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St., Manchester on Thursday, June 9th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
