Michael Raymond Mitchell, Coventry, CT passed away on May 16 surrounded by family after a courageous fight with lung cancer. He was born in Boston, MA on October 15, 1946 son of the late Robert and Agnes Mitchell. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marie (Prioli) Mitchell, his son, Michael and his wife, Deborah of Vernon, CT and daughter, Jennifer Robinson and her husband Thomas, of Manchester, CT. He was the adoring Papa to Ashley, Vanessa, Victoria, Margaret and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert, of South Carolina, and Richard, of MA and his sister, Anita, of MA. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles, of Florida. Mike was a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, MA. He retired from Alliance Laundry Systems in 2011. He belonged to the St. Jude Assembly, Knights of Columbus of Coventry and the Campbell Council 573 of Manchester. He was also an active member of the Andover Sportsman's Club. He will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. He touched the hearts of all who knew him. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4-7 PM Friday, May 20, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester, CT.
