Obituary of John Welch

John J. Welch, 89, of Manchester the husband of Jeanine (Hryniewicz) Welch died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Kimberly Hall North, Windsor. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late John J. and Mercedes (Bristol) Welch. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 35, retiring as a master electrician and in 2013 received his 50 year membership citation. John was also a member of the American Legion. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Nancy E. Welch of Manchester. He was predeceased by his son William M. Welch and sister Katherine Roski. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. Manchester on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Windsor Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Windsor.
