Antonino Vernali, 77, the husband of Carmela (Zappula) Vernali died on Thursday (April 21, 2016) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born in Libya the son of Salvatore and Lucia Vernali and had been a resident of Manchester for many years. Antonino, a man who could never say no, worked as a tradesman for many local construction firms. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and fan of the Italian soccer club Juventus and was a long time member of the Italian American Star Club. Besides his wife, Antonio is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Lucia and Jonathan Vervoort of PA, his son and daughter-in-law Salvatore and Kathryn Vernali of Manchester; his grandchildren Brittney, Kaci and Anthony Vernali and Samuel Vervoort and his great grandchildren Jayden and Logan Vernali. Antonio is also survived by his siblings and their spouses Rosa and Pat Bazzano, Gino and Irene Vernali, Maria Brancato, Giovanni and Nuccia Vernali and Domenico and Rita Vernali. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Santina Serafini. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 25th at 10:15 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bridget Church, Manchester at 11:00. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Manchester.
