Obituary of Walter S. Forrest
Walter S. Forrest, 74, lifelong resident of East Hartford, beloved husband of almost 51 years to Helene (Jacques) Forrest, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday (May 8, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Sophia (Terzak) Forrest. Walter had attended East Hartford schools, worked for Hamilton Standard for 41 years, and Point Staffing at the Southern Auto Auction for 10 years. He was an active member of Hillstown Grange #87 for 60 years and the Connecticut State Grange. Besides his wife Helene, he is survived by his children Lisa Mathews and her husband Stephen of Portland, ME, Michelle DeDominicis and her husband Kenneth of East Hartford, Eric Forrest and his wife Allison of Amston, JoLynne Burlette and her husband Mark of Manchester, Paul J. Forrest of Glastonbury, and Stephanie Mola and her husband Eric of Bristol; and his grandchildren Geoffrey, Colleen, Erin and Shannon Mathews, Mary and Noella Burlette, Angelina DeDominicis, and Samuel and Amy Forrest. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, Lawrence and JoAnn, James and Betty, Frank and Betsy, Robert and Liz, Thomas and Jan; his sister-in-law Fleurette and her husband Patrick Beaulieu, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (May 12th) at 8:30 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated at 9:30 am at St. Christopher Church 538 Brewer St. East Hartford, CT. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (May 11th) from 4-8 pm.
