Roccina DePhillips Sapienza, 96, formerly of Manchester, the wife of the late Rosario T. Sapienza, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday January 17, 2016 at The Elms Center, Milford, NH. Born in Hartford on December 3, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Brancieri) DePhillips. "Rocci" found joy in cooking and was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan. She was a fun, compassionate woman who never complained and was always a great listener. She was loved by all who knew her. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children Thomas Sapienza and his wife Lisa of Milford, NH, and Lori Coffin and her husband Bradford of Colchester, CT; her grandchildren Marie Schooley and her husband Matt, TJ Sapienza, Meghan Sapienza, Mallory Coffin and her fiancé Evan Berg, Jared Coffin, and Jason Coffin; her great-granddaughter Madison Schooley; her sisters-in-law Constance Lombardo of Manchester, Gloria Vendryes of Ithaca, NY and Dolores Sapienza of Delaware; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Frank DePhillips and Prospero DePhillips and her sisters Annette Cerasole and Rose Edwards. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at St. James Church 896 Main St., Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
