Obituary of August F. Kramer
August F. Kramer, 84, the husband of the late Elizabeth (Reardon) Kramer died on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Vernon. He was born in Hartford, the son of George and Pauline (Layman) Kramer and was formerly of Coventry before moving to Manchester. He was a proud US Navy veteran having served in the Korean War where he was assigned to Composite Squardon 7. Prior to his retirement, after thirty-three years, he had worked as a compositor with the Hartford Courant. He was active in many area organizations including the Thomas Green Retirees Club, the Army& Navy Club, VFW, American Legion, Elks Club, Zipser Club and the Knights of Columbus all of Manchester. August is survived by his children Lynn Kramer Sobol and her husband Michael of Coventry, Kathleen Kramer Sumislaski and her husband Lewis of Bolton, August F. Kramer, Jr. of Coventry, Joseph T. Kramer of S.C. and James P. Kramer and his wife Lianne of Derby, VT; his grandchildren Mike and Kelly Sobol, Michelle and Andrew Cyr, Amy and John Devanney, Jeffrey and Jamie Sumislaski, Amanda and Colin Steele, Mary Francis Sumislaski, Kelly Kramer, Sarah Kramer, and Jaime Kramer; and his great-grandchildren Aliza, Zoey, Alexandria, Connor, Abigail, Melanie, Benjamin, Jack and Jaeden. Funeral services will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 22nd.
