Roy Bradley, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 13, 2015. He now joins his beloved wife Brenda, who has been saving the last dance for him. Roy was born on April 2, 1931 in Plymouth, England. He retired as a Sergeant in the British Light Infantry following twenty years of service. After his military career, Roy owned a successful painting business in the U.K. and came to this country with Brenda in 1976. He concluded his working career as a painting foreman at Hartford Hospital. Beyond his passion for Brenda, Roy enjoyed music, old movies, ballroom dancing and English football, particularly Plymouth Argyle and Manchester United. Most of all, he thrived in the company of his loved ones, always quick to share a laugh and a song with family and friends. He is survived by his three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Peter R. and Sonja Henry of Yulee, FL, William P. and Rosanne Henry and Brian M. and Pamela Henry of Manchester. Four grandchildren, Jill Castellani and her spouse Rick of Fernandina Beach, FL, Brett Henry of Yulee, FL, Sarah Henry and her spouse Erica Heath of Manchester, and Ashton Henry of Manchester, and five great-grandchildren , Grace and Noah Castellani, Vivian and Brogan Henry­ Heath, and Alexandria Ijomah. Also, sisters-in-law Connie Turschmann and her spouse Fred of Stafford Springs, along with Vera Parry and Beryl Edwards in the U.K. Additionally, numerous nieces and nephews in both CT and the UK, not least of which are Denise Horne, Linda Robinson and Pam Bevan. Roy also leaves longtime friends Ruth & Chalkie White and Frank Newson in the U.K. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 18th, 2015 at 10 AM at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester. Burial will immediately follow in the East Cemetery.
