Madeleine Lamy Haley, 89, of East Hartford, widow of Joseph Patrick Haley, died Tuesday morning, December 1, 2015, at her home of over 50 years. She was born in Springfield, MA, on April 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph Medric and Corinne Delia (Monette) Lamy. Madeleine was a 1943 graduate of Springfield's Classical High School and a 1947 graduate of Framingham State Teachers College. She taught Home Economics at Westfield High School after graduation, and went on to become Westfield's first Supervisor of School Lunch. Madeleine and Joe were married on July 22, 1961, at Holy Cross Church in Springfield. In 1965 they moved their two young children to East Hartford, where they were blessed with two more children. Madeleine was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Parish in East Hartford where she served many years as a Eucharistic Minister and lead a number of church programs. She is survived by her four children, Theresa C. Buckson of Bolton, Joseph P. Haley of East Hartford, Christopher P. Haley of Barre, MA and Margaret M. Morrissey of Manchester; her grandchildren, Carolyn, Michael and Daniel Buckson, Zachary and Peter DelGaizo and Madison and Joseph Haley; her sons-in-law Daniel and Sean; her sister Constance L. Acton of Hopkinton, MA.; her brother Richard N. Lamy of Trumbull; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard C. Lamy of Mystic. Madeleine will be remembered for her selfless devotion to her family and for her deep faith in God. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5 at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Manchester, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
