Elizabeth "Betty" Murphy, 90, of Manchester, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. Mark's Village in Palm Harbor, FL. Born in New York City, she had lived in Manchester for most of her life until moving to Florida two years ago. She was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Elizabeth Murphy. She is survived by her nieces Sharon Murphy of Noank, CT, Kathleen Sheldon of Clear Water, FL; her nephew Michael Murphy and his wife Cindy of Kershaw, SC; 4 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews; and 2 great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother James E. Murphy. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 9:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Church 80 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
