Claire M. (McCormick) Kuenzig, age 88, wife of the late Fred J. Kuenzig, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2015. She was born on September 7, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Harold Joseph McCormick and Margaret (Murphy) McCormick. She was a graduate of Hunter College, where she earned a degree in Health and Physical Education. She taught at Morris High School (Bronx, NY), Andrew Jackson High School (Queens, NY) and Canton High School (Canton, CT). Claire resided in Palm Coast, FL and East Otis, MA, where she was a member of The Blandford Club. She was an avid golfer and tennis player, who also enjoyed reading, traveling and playing bridge. A former resident of Simsbury, CT, Claire and her husband, Fred, were active members of the Simsbury Square Dance Club. She is survived by her sons Gregory Kuenzig and Thomas Kuenzig and his wife Suzanne; and her four grandchildren, Margaret "Maggie" Kuenzig, John Kuenzig, Krista Kennedy and Thomas Kennedy. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Kuenzig, and her brother, Harold McCormick. Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
