Robin G. (Hallowell) Bittner, 55, wife of Clarence "Turk" Bittner, died Monday July 6, 2015 at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Rockville, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. Hallowell and Marjorie L. (Lund) Scussell. Robin was employed as a caterer for Bobby T's. She loved to make people laugh. Robin loved her husband Turk, her family & friends & her animals. She would work tirelessly for anyone who needed it. Everyone enjoyed her hysterical stories that will be repeated for years to come. She was a great cook and loved baking birthday cakes for family. Dancing in the kitchen to the oldies wasn't uncommon. Robin had a heart of gold and a spice for life. She will be sorely missed! Besides her husband, Robin is survived by her son Gregory A. Hallowell of Maine; Jason Gebel of East Hartford CT and David Gebel of Tolland CT who Robin helped raise and considered both her sons in her heart; siblings Robert Peter Hallowell and his wife Susan Hallowell of Manchester CT, Michael D. Hallowell and his wife Audrey Hallowell of Vernon CT, Ronald J. Scussel of Vernon CT, Bonnie Rae (Hallowell) Turull and her husband William Turull of Manchester CT; her nieces and nephews Lisa Moran, Linda Turull, Robert Hallowell, and David Turull; numerous cousins including Julian Fickett of Lubec ME; her Aunt Sharon and Uncle Lloyd Lund of Pembroke ME; their extended family and close friends: Randi Kerin, Cheryl Champ and Robert Turcotte. Besides her parents, Robin was predeceased by her brother James L. Hallowell and her nephew William Turull. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. at East Cemetery, Harrison Street, Manchester. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
