Charles Nadeau

Obituary of Charles R. Nadeau

Charles Richard (Charlie) Nadeau died suddenly on Saturday, June 20th, while staying at a relative's home in Manchester. He is survived by his Mother, Dorothea Nadeau of Glastonbury, 2 sisters, Linda Nadeau of Rocky Hill and Laura Nadeau of Glastonbury, and a brother, Phil Nadeau and his wife Carla Volkert of Webster, MA. He was born January 17, 1952 to Dorothea and Len Nadeau in Hartford but grew up in Manchester, graduating from Manchester High School in 1971. As a young man, Charlie's sense of adventure led him and 2 friends to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to New York before injury forced him off the trail. He lived for several years in both Fairbanks, Alaska and Portland, Maine before returning to Manchester for good in 2000. He never lost his love of the outdoors or the occasional glass of good bourbon. He worked as a warehouseman in several local businesses over the years including AGWAY, Home Depot, and most recently, Sam's Club in Manchester before retiring earlier this year. Charlie always held strong beliefs and never wavered even when they went against his own self-interests. He was also brave and loyal in support of his friends and family and will be missed greatly. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 28th, from 3:00-5:00 at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester.
