Obituary of Stephen T. McAdam

Stephen T. McAdam, 72, long time resident of Manchester passed away on Thursday June, 11th at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Manchester, he was the son of Elwin and Helen McAdam. He attended Manchester High School where he was captain of the basketball and baseball team. His love for sports continued for many years playing in the Hartford and Willimantic Twilight League. He was the cornerstone for starting the slow pitch softball league in Manchester and he played on numerous teams throughout the state. He was known as a free spirit. He is survived by his son Daniel McAdam of Manchester and his brothers, David and his wife Peggy and their sons David McAdam and Sean McAdam of Manchester; Richard and his wife Kathleen of Cape Coral, FL and their children Kimberly Sanders, Rachel Massai, Joseph McAdam, Patrick McAdam, & Sean McAdam; and his sister Jean McAdam. His brother Jack of Boston, MA predeceased him. He leaves behind his lifelong friend of Dave White and Mike McCarthy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (June 25th) at noon at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, CT 06040 followed by burial in East Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00-12:00 on Thursday morning.
