Obituary of Patricia Scott

Once in a while right in the middle of an ordinary day life gives us a fairy tale… a love story of commitment, love and devotion. Our story begins on March 26, 1945 when Patricia M. Lennon married Irving Harry Scott in Chicago, IL. Patricia Margrete an Irish lass was born on February 24, 1925 to the late James and Elizabeth Lennon of New Rochelle, NY met Army Air Force Sergeant, Irving "Scottie" Scott in Florida where he was serving in the "Colored Army" at Fort Myers. Against all odds and the law love blossomed and forged a bond to love, honor and cherish each other for over six decades. Pat and Scottie settled in Hartford, CT and together they raised five children. Scottie worked two full time jobs while Pat stayed home and watched over the kids. Money was tight but Pat and Scottie always put their children first. Stride Rite shoes at Easter, brand new pair of sneakers for school, Friday night ice cream and swimming at Batterson Park. Memorial Day was the parade in Downtown Hartford and once a year trip to Riverside Park where Mom would love the ride the "Cuddly Up." Lifesavers were her favorite candy and a sip of "Old Crow" playing pinochle with her husband and in-laws always brought a twinkle to her beautiful blue eyes. In later years, Pat and Scottie loved to play Bingo at Foxwoods and camp at Burlingame State Park. No matter what they did family came first! Patricia took a part time job at G. Fox and Co. and at the time of her retirement was a member of the Moses Fox Club. Scottie passed away on November 22, 2005 and Pat his beloved wife joined him on what would have been their 67th Wedding Anniversary Monday March 26th. So you see as in all fairy tales…they did live happily ever after… Pat is survived by her daughter Stacy Scott Durso and her daughter Tala. Her son Michael and his wife Leslie Namey Scott, and his daughter Bree and husband Kevin and their children Avery and Christian; his daughter Nateasa and her fiancé Shane Braithwaite and their son Miles Irving and step son Peter Namey. Her daughter Lorrie Elizabeth and her husband Mel and her "Godchild" Maya Linnell. Her daughter Kathleen Marie and former son-in-law Sean Royal, he often would visit Pat and call her "Momma Bear." Sister-in-law Irene Scott Harris and her children John and his wife Kathy and their daughter Jackie. Irene's daughter Niki and husband Brian and their son Brian Jr. She was predeceased by her son James Howard, sister Rita and brothers-in-law Howard "Sonny" Scott and John Harris, Sr. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Pat's extended family at Riverside Health and Rehab of East Hartford, especially Ivy Dinnald, Scott, Debra, and her roommate Karen Cassidy.
