Obituary of Paul E. Charette
Paul Emile Charette, 87, of East Hartford, loving husband of 63 years to Jane Peters Charette passed away peacefully Sunday May 31, 2015. Born in Fort Kent, Maine, he was the son of the late Thomas and Luci Charette. Paul served his country proudly in the US Navy for 3 years toward the end of World War II. After leaving the Navy, he moved to East Hartford where he worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a Machine Specialist for 45 years.
In his retirement, Paul enjoyed traveling with his wife and good friends the McCauleys, puttering in the yard, and caring for his blueberries which were shared and enjoyed by many. You could always find Paul cheering for the UCONN Women's Basketball Team and the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his daughter Denise and her husband Bruce DeForge of Lutherville, MD, daughter Michelle of Ashford, CT, son Mark of Stafford Springs, CT, daughter Janine and her husband Rex Tayag of Boston, MA, son David of Coventry, CT, son Christopher and his wife Michelle of Denver, CO, son Matthew and his wife Giselle of Carolina, Puerto Rico, daughter Aimee and her husband Todd Ossman of McLean, VA. Paul is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jacki DeForge, Greg DeForge and his wife Amanda, Ben and Ryan Tayag, Nolan Charette, Brandon and Cristian Charette, Erika Hines and her husband James, Owen and Carter Ossman. In addition, 4 great grandchildren, Dominic, Emma, Paisley and Cullen and his 2 sisters, Yvonne and Annette. Paul is also survived by Jim McCauley, a dear friend for over 60 years and his former daughter-in-law Hope Mayhew.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Friday, June 5th, at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester followed by burial in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester from 5:00-8:00 on Thursday June 4th.
