Thadius John "Ted/Tex" Kiejna, 95, a lifelong resident of Manchester, the husband of the late Jean (Kose) Kiejna died Thursday April 23, 2015 at Manchester Manor. Born in Plymouth, CT he was the son of the late Marian and Tekla Kiejna. He was a basketball star at Terryville High School, a US Army Veteran of World War II and retired from Hamilton Standard after many years of service, as well as a member of St. James Knights of Columbus and the Polish American Club. An avid golfer accruing many trophies, he loved the New York Yankees (spending many springs at their summer camp), traveling here and abroad as well as cooking and sharing his love of food with his entire family. He is survived by his daughters Barbara Unsworth and her husband Thomas of Lee, MA and Donna Stack and her husband William of Mendham, NJ; his grandchildren Tom Unsworth, Christopher Unsworth, Andrew Unsworth and wife Marybeth, Emily Manz and husband Tom, Jason Stack and wife Josephine, Priscilla Elms and husband Michael, Meredith Ross and husband Brian; and twelve adoring great-grandchildren. Besides his wife he was predeceased by one younger brother and two younger sisters. A special thank you to the outstanding and caring Staff at Manchester Manor, especially Ann Marie, Maria, and Evelyn. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 1st, at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. The John F.
