Obituary of Robert Kiernan

Robert M. Kiernan, 86, of Manchester, husband of 65 years to Lucille Kiernan, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2015 at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center after a short battle with cancer. Born April 3, 1929, Bob lived most of his life in Manchester. He was a graduate of Rockville High School and served in the U.S. Navy. His work career began as a Manchester Police Officer. Bob was also the founder of Manchester Cycle Shop. In addition to working in the bicycle industry, he worked many years as a Real Estate broker. He was a member of the Manchester Elks Lodge 1893, where he served as Exalted Ruler, and was a member of the Army/Navy Club in Manchester. Bob enjoyed playing golf and playing cards. In addition to his wife, Robert leaves four children; Robert D. Kiernan and his wife, Katherine of Vernon; Richard Kiernan of Woodbury; Joyce Kiernan and her husband, James Mullen, of Manchester; Jeffrey Kiernan of Manchester. Seven grandchildren; Robert T. Kiernan and his wife, Cynthia; Rebecca Kiernan; Chad Kiernan, Valentina Kiernan/Williams; Madison Mullen, Blake Mullen, Delaney Mullen; a great- grandson, Robert P. Kiernan and a nephew, Thomas Morrow and his wife Kathy. Bob was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Morrow. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
