Obituary of Anita M. Daigle
Anita M (Pelletier) Daigle passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 3, 2015 at Rockville Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Roland J. Daigle for 65 years . She was born November 11, 1930 in Grand Isle, Maine to the late Patrick Pelletier and Mina Dufour. Anita retired from Howell Cheney Technical School, where she worked in the cafeteria for 23 years. Anita was a wonderful cook and baker, especially her incredible pies. She loved playing scrabble with her daughters and would sometimes let them win. When she wasn't playing scrabble she was playing cards, Mexican train or doing her favorite search-aword puzzle book. Throughout their 65 years of marriage, Anita and Roland traveled to many locations in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Europe. Her most beloved place was going back home to Maine to visit family where she shared so many special times.
Besides her husband, Anita is survived by 6 daughters and their spouses, Rella Rice and John of Chelsea,VT, Janine Rizza and Don Bourgoin, Janet Lessard and James, Karen McNamara and Tim, and Nancy Daigle all of Manchester and Elaine Dabrowski and Michael of Bolton. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Tina Arpin and Neil of Amston, Angela Chapman and Jason of South Windsor,and Steven Rizza of Manchester. Anita's pride and joy in life was her great grand-daughter Hailey Chapman. Hailey would come to Great Grandma's and have dinner and would always get spoiled with a special dessert. Anita also leaves a very special niece who was like a daughter, Maryann and her husband Edmond Parent. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Frank Rizza.
Anita is also survived by 9 sisters and 3 brothers and spouses, Marie Cyr of Rocky Hill; Irene Roy (Yvon) of Newington; Jackie Parent of Stuart, FL; Cecile Lavoie (Walter) of Frenchville, ME; Pauline Martin (Robert) of Grand Isle, ME; Ornerine Kokoszka of Van Buren, ME; Therese Gendreau (Ronaldo), Claudette Gendreau (Claude), Rachel Beaulieu (Norman), Gerard Pelletier, Adrien Pelletier (Jeanne) all of St. David, ME; and Antheme Pelletier (Rollande) of Coventry. She also leaves many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday April 7, 2015 from 5 —8 pm at John F Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT 06040. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 8 at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Assumption, 29 S. Adams Street, Manchester, CT at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Church of the Assumption.
