John M. Holleran, 69, of Manchester, CT died peacefully at home on March 9, 2015 after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ballincurra, Swinford, Co. Mayo, the son of the late Bridget (O'Hara) Holleran, Co. Mayo and the late John Holleran, London, England. John was a member of the Irish American Home Society for the last 45 years and was employed by the MDC for 32 years. John is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Lil) Holleran and his two sons, Matthew and his partner, Allison Spence and her daughter Britney Ford and John's granddaughter Makayla Rose Holleran of New Britain, and his son Seamus Holleran of Manchester, CT. He also leaves behind his brother, Seamus Holleran of Surry, England and his sister Bridget Anne and Julian Ogley and family of London, England. In addition, he leaves his in-laws Teresa and Joe Heffernan, Seamus and Dolores Graham, Marie Graham, Noel and Myra Graham, Rose Guinan, Pat Graham, all of Ireland, Tom and Laurie Graham of Boston and brother-in-law Sean Lawlor, Ireland. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland, England and the USA and a very special caregiver and friend Doris Wilcox of Vernon, CT. John was predeceased by his sister-in-law Mary Graham Lawlor, and brothers-in-law Pat Guinan and Mattie Graham. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4:00-8:00 on Thursday March 12 at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, at 10:15 from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, 896 Main Street Manchester, CT at 11:00. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT.
