Eugene P. Bailey of Manchester died on Tuesday (February 17, 2015) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Scott and Angeline (Vallera) Bailey. Geno was the Director of Maintenance at the Marlborough Healthcare Center for more than 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, never missing arrival at 4:30AM on opening day at Gay City. Geno was the "go to guy" with any mechanical house repairs needed by friends and family. He had a great love for monster trucks and his favorite place, Bailey's Landing in New Hampshire. But above all, his children were his life. Geno is survived by his son James Jones and his wife Jessica of Manchester, his daughters Jennifer Bailey of Manchester, Courtney Bailey of East Hartford, and Chelsea Bailey of East Hartford; his grandchildren Caitlin Jones, Alexa Bailey, Dominic Welden and Lilli Welden; his siblings Patricia Cutting, Scott Bailey and his wife Linda, Happy Corcoran and her husband Bill, and Ron "Beatle" Bailey and his partner Ann and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Bailey and is brother-in-law Ken Cutting. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, at 2:00PM at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00-2:00. In addition, Courtney and Chelsea will celebrate their father's life with a memorial service on March 11 at 7:00PM at the Calvary Church of West Hartford, 1855 Albany Ave., West Hartford.
